Road Planning Contractor Oldham

Road planning is usually used as an alternative to the complete removal of the road surface. As opposed to the time consuming and often costly process of excavation, the damaged top road surface is removed using a planing machine, allowing a new surface to be directly overlaid onto the sub layers of the existing. The process provides a more cost effective as well as ‘environmentally’ conscious surfacing solution, as an opposition to a complete construction.

TOTAL Paving & Block Paving Contractors Oldham

Block paving also know as ‘brick paving’ is a commonly used decorative method of creating a hardstanding. The main benefit over other materials used to create a hard surface is that with block paving the individual brick that go together to make up the entire block paved surface can be lifted up and then replaced.

This flexability allows for remedial work to be carried out under the surface of the paving without any visible notice to the surface once the paving bricks have been replaced. This is why this type of brick paving is often referred to as flexible paving.

Most common areas of use for block paving are for driveways, pavement, patios, town centres, precincts as well as more & more common use in road surfacing.

There are two popular makes of block paving brick and they are; concrete, and clay ( although other composite materials do exist to make up an individual) brick) – each with its own way of preparation that go to make up the construction of a paving brick.

Most frequent questions and answers

Asphalt or bitumen as it otherwise named, can be a cost-effective solution for a new driveway compared to other materials that can be used, and is great if you’re working on a tight budget and this causes less disruption. It is also a very sustainable option for your new driveway.

These types of driveways are durable, low noise, skid resistant and have a tough surface which is good for those who experience very cold mornings during the winter period.

Driveway construction with asphalt are strong & reliable but after much heavy use, they may require some maintenance and repairs.

At Total Regeneration, we ensure that we will be creating a surface which looks great and has a long lasting life cycle. We lay an adequate foundation (Base) which is a crucial part of any solid structure.

Our professional car park team specialise in paving of car parks, maintenance and repairs.

We know the importance of a properly installed and maintained car park area so that it can continue to be in use for as long as possible. Whatever your business is, our car park paving specialist at Total Regeneration can give your property a desired and fresh new look.

Professional maintenance from Total Regeneration requires assessments of the surface conditions and a response in a respectable manner so that small problems don’t become lager issues. This attention to detail can reduce surface aging and resulting in great cost savings over the life cycle of the pavement.

Total Regeneration works with its clients to ensure the right application is delivered and the smallest details are addressed to. This quality asphalting paving and repair is what keeps our clients coming back to us year after year

Resurfacing can be a cost-effective option to give you a new pavement surface without having to completely remove your existing sub base.

Our resurfacing can vary depending on each site but the main process includes preparing and cleaning the area, leveling asphalt, grinding all transitions and adjusting drainage structures. There are various other processes to take, however ,this varies depending on each site

Resurfacing options include:

  • Geotextile Reinforced Resurfacing
  • Levelling Binder
  • Built Joint/Grinding
  • Transition Milling

The main difference in these two type of brick is the way they set hard ready for use;

A clay block paving brick has to be fired in a kiln in order to bake the brick hard, and a concrete block paving brick has to be allowed set

The concrete paving bricks are a porous form of brick formed by mixing small stone hardcore, dyes, and depending on the finished colour required, cement and sand in various amounts.

There are also other materials which can be added to make up a block paving brick individual manufacture. Many block paving manufacturing methods now allow for the use of recycled materials in the construction of the paving bricks such as crushed glass, and crushed old building rubble to replace the stone hardcore that is used.

At Total Regeneration we offer a wide range of Block Paving Styles in Blackpool from leading manufactures, allowing us to create some of the finest block paving projects.

Bitumen is a product of the oil-refining and petro-chemical industries. Described in basic terms it is the thick an sticky residual goo that is left over when all the useful fuel oils, such as kerosene, petrol, diesel, etc., have been extracted by fractional distillation of a crude oil.

Macadam is a process of binding together smaller aggregates, as pioneered by the legendary John MacAdam in the 19th century (although there are tales of the Chinese having used a form of ‘macadam’ as far back 300BC) His work resulted in the development of tar-mac. Nowadays, we use bitumen from the oil industry rather than naturally occurring tar, and therefore we now have bitumen macadam or, as we call it in the trade, bitmac.

According to the British and European (CEN) definitions is a mixture of bitumen and minerals. However, in the US, they use term ‘asphalt’ for what we in Britain and the rest of Europe refer to as Bitumen. This is the source of much of the confusion amongst non-trade professionals as to what’s what and what’s not.

Tarmacadam, properly referred to as bituminous macadam or Bitmac for brevity, is often considered to be the cheapest method of surfacing for a driveway or forecourt, however for smaller areas it can work out quite expensive, and the red tarmacadam can also be more expensive than block paving. Tarmacadam ‘Tarmac’ has become a popular, although technically incorrect, term for both bitmac and for asphalt used to surface pavements, highways and even internal floors.

Total Regeneration deliver the highest quality services for residential and commercial road surfacing. We focus on attention to details for every road surfacing project we undertake. May roads, particularly commercial roads will need to handle high traffic volumes. At Total Regeneration, we pay special attention to the stability and compaction of materials and measure these two metrics to not only ensure a successful surface installation but guarantee the longevity of the roadway for years to come.

We plan and design each stage of the project to set out a project timeframe, and we even take into consideration traffic volumes. Our impeccable planning and expertise helps us to deliver our projects on time and more importantly on budget, ensuring complete client satisfaction every time.

The primary objective of our surface patching is to prevent further deterioration of a surface by excavating the damaged area and replacing it with mixed asphalt. Our Total Regeneration team will determine the correct patching requirements and the precise materials based on the extent of the damage

Total Regeneration have established a reputation on professionalism, honestly, quality relationships and more importantly reliability and have had many years of experience building sports courts.

This method is commonly used for many types of sports courts including tennis, netball, and outdoor basketball courts. Asphalt lasts much longer than concrete methods, can be made softer than concrete and does not have the same long term impact effects on the body as a harder surface such as concrete would.

The installation of a speed hump is effective at slowing traffic to safer speed conditions in built up areas and especially around schools. It is a more long term solution than other methods.

Fortunately asphalt speed humps do not need much maintenance and can be removed, re-shaped and re-laid to accommodate your needs.

Total Regeneration’s asphalt and bitumen solutions for subdivisions include paving new roads, installing driveways for properties both established and new, footpaths, edging, potholes repair and maintenance. From our initial meeting to site preparation and installation of your new surface, we take care every step of the way. We pride ourselves in the work we offer by creating surfaces that are aesthetically pleasing and fit in with the look of your area
