Supporting Communities

Fostering strong and meaningful relationships is a core value of the Total Group. By working in partnership with the community we strive to achieve beneficial outcomes and community legacies which continue after our project teams have moved on.

Community / Corporate Social Responsibility

We believe that contributing to the economic, environmental and social well-being of the communities where we live and work is not only our responsibility, but our obligation.

Community relationships are an integral part of our business since the communities where we work usually have an enormous impact on society, on a local scale.

Practicing Corporate Social Responsibility does not mean compromising our business standards. It means taking a fresh approach to our goals to reduce the social and environmental impacts of business and meet our customers’ needs.

Total Group aspires to lay the foundations in all partnerships for a sustainable future in the communities in which we work.

We achieve this by delivering on our promises with integrity, honesty, and sensitivity. We encourage our local team to actively contribute and add value to society. Through our training schools we focus on developing local skills to ensure an on-going legacy for the community.

Establishing local apprenticeships and Community focus groups

Employing local people meets our sustainability goals and is beneficial in-service delivery terms, particularly as regards flexible working hours.

The chances of someone being able and willing to stay late improve if there is no long journey. Also, booking local employees for early appointments is more reliable because there are fewer traffic/transport issues.

A commitment to apprenticeships provides us with the luxury of a workforce in waiting. We have had an apprenticeship programme for over ten years.

We use focus groups within contracts to advantageous effects and will request guidance from Clients, on local groups who may be receptive to an approach.

We are conscious that it is through focus groups and discussion in the wider community that we can gain a general impression of community requirements.

Our Ethos

Total have a long term view in protecting the stability and the development of the business, as we feel an obligation exists from us to all in what make contact with in our working day.
