Uses of Biomass in Energy Production

It can be converted into electric power through several methods, with direct combustion being the most frequently employed technique. In this method, agricultural waste, woody materials, wood pellets, chips, or logs are burned in open fires, stoves, and boilers.
These biomass combustion processes provide local or central heating and domestic hot water, or even support small and large-scale district heating schemes. Most urban installations prefer wood chips or pellets as a fuel source, with pellets often chosen because they have a higher calorific value per unit volume and are free-flowing.
